Buildings go Maroon for ‘Show your Colours’

The Brisbane, ‘Show your Colours’ campaign has been officially launched by the Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk, Assistant Sport & Racing Minister Tim Mander and Origin great Darren Lockyer.
Everything from bridges to buses, and workplace staff to retail windows are invited to celebrate the State of Origin by dressing and decorating in maroon or blue in the lead-up to the final game.
In support of the campaign the following buildings will be lit up in maroon from 6pm 25 June until the final game on the 4 July;
- Go Between Bridge
- Story Bridge
- City Hall
- King George Square
- Wintergarden
- Treasury Casino
- Kurilpa Bridge
- Wheel of Brisbane
- QPAC
- Southbank Cultural Forecourt
- Queen Street Mall
Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk urges everyone to get into the spirit and support the inaugural ‘Show your Colours’ campaign by publicly backing their favourite team.
“This isn’t just about getting behind Brisbane’s favourite grudge match, it is about getting together as a city and developing and strengthening our fantastic culture of support for major events,” Cr Quirk said.
