Brisbane brings new product to AIME

Branded as Australia’s new world city, Brisbane is promising to introduce AIME delegates to a new selection of business events operators in 2010.

Brisbane Marketing’s Director Convention Bureau, Ms Annabel Sullivan, said several new partners – including new operators and AIME first-timers – would appear on this year’s Team Brisbane AIME stand.

“We’re delighted to be broadening the Brisbane presence at AIME and we’ve partnered with some exceptional product that really showcases the city’s appeal as a business events destination,” said Ms Sullivan.

She said Brisbane’s list of AIME first-timers included the Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge, Spa & Vineyard, Novotel Brisbane Airport Hotel and Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.

  • Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge, Spa & Vineyard

Freshly renovated and new to AIME in 2010, the Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge, Spa & Vineyard is ideally suited to small events. Perched atop a commanding mountain peak with sweeping views of country, city and coastline, the property offers a range of facilities including 53 rooms and suites, and eight conference and function rooms that can be configured to suit various group sizes (up to a maximum of 240 delegates).

  • Novotel Brisbane Airport Hotel

Just three months old, the Novotel Brisbane Airport Hotel is set to be one of the newest properties appearing at AIME this year. The 4.5-star property, which boasts 157 guest rooms, six dedicated meeting rooms, an executive boardroom and onsite restaurant, is the first hotel to be built in Brisbane’s airport precinct.

  • Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery Of Modern Art

In addition to being premier art institutions and iconic Brisbane tourist destinations, the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art have established themselves as two of Brisbane’s most favoured venues for corporate entertaining and private events. Each building offers unforgettable backdrops for events and a history of highly successful exhibitions adds value to gala occasions.

New product also appearing on the Team Brisbane stand includes the Strand at Rugby Quay (opening March 2010) and Spicers Balfour Hotel (opening mid 2010 and appearing as part of the Spicers Retreats, Hotels & Lodges group).
